A lifelong resident of Gloucester City, Anne passed away peacefully on Dec. 3, 2015. She was 95 years old. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward J. Walls, dear sister of George R. Verfaillie and the late Bernice Heitzmann and Dorothy B. Clark. Anne is also survived by her loving niece Patricia A. Kanady, great nieces Jacqueline A. Harris and Patricia A. Hesser, great great nieces Samantha and Brooke and many other cherished nieces and nephews. Anne proudly served in the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps in WWII. She was a lifelong member of the Episcopal Church of the Ascension, where she served on numerous Guilds including Sunday school teacher. Anne also served as an Officer of the Diocesan UTO, on the Board of the Diocesan and District ECW and was also a member of the Haddonfield Chapter #140 Order of Eastern Star. Anne worked as a Librarian in Voorhees and Gloucester City. Anne was a lover of all animals, enjoyed her garden, sewing, cooking, fund raising for her church, traveling and family events. Relatives and friends are invited to meet Tuesday morning from 10:00 to 11:00am at the Episcopal Church of the Ascension, 110 S. Sussex Street, Gloucester City. An Eastern Star service will be held at 10:30am at the Church. A Mass of the Resurrection and Burial Office will be celebrated 11:00am at the Church. Interment with full Military Honors will take place at the Brig. General Wm C. Doyle NJ Veterans Cemetery on Wednesday morning. In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorial donations in Anne's name be made to either the Church at the above address or the Animal Welfare Association, 509 Centennial Blvd., Voorhees NJ 08043, www.awanj.org.
