Help us to remember that this life given us by nature is short but the memory of a life well spent is life eternal. Anne M. Childs (nee Huesken) held her faith dear. She was composed of conviction, but fun in her own little way. She was a supportive wife and mother who will be missed dearly. Anne passed away at her long-time home in Woodlynne on Sunday, October 30, 2022, a few weeks after her 75th birthday.
Born in Philadelphia, she had been a member of the Woodlynne Elementary School Board of Education and PTA as well as a parishioner and lector at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Woodlynne. After raising her four children, Anne worked for over 20 years in shipping and logistics at Nine West Distribution in Paulsboro. Anne was a parishioner of St. Joseph The Worker Parish, St. Vincent Pallotti Church in Haddon Twp., and enjoyed virtually visiting neighboring churches during the pandemic. At home, she was an avid Philly sports fan cheering on the Sixers and rarely missed one of her children’s sporting events and activities. She enjoyed a good movie and sharing her experiences with pen pals.
Anne was predeceased by her husband James E. She leaves to cherish her memory, her children; James J. (Jennifer) Childs, Jennifer Childs, Peter (Bistra Dimova) Childs, and Amy (Derek) Wormley. Mrs. Childs is the proud grandmother of Marjorie, Emily, Harley Anne, Olivia, Boriana, and Evelina. She is also survived and will be sadly missed by her brothers: Theodore Huesken and Dr. Gerald Huesken.
Relatives, friends, neighbors, and parishioners are invited to gather with the Childs family. We’ll take comfort in each other on Sunday evening between 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm, and again on Monday morning 9:30 am - 10:30 am at Creran Celebration Etherington & Creran Funeral Homes 400 White Horse Pike, Oaklyn. We will celebrate Anne’s life through faith in a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday morning at 11:00 am at St. Joseph The Worker Parish, St. Vincent Pallotti Church 901 Hopkins Rd. A, Haddonfield. Mausoleum entombment and the witness of reunion will immediately follow at Calvary Cemetery & Mausoleum, Cherry Hill. As an expression of sympathy, contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society. www.cancer.org P.O. Box 6704 Hagerstown, MD 21741.
