On March 2, 2017, (nee Burns) of Collingswood, formerly of Oaklyn, NJ, age 92. She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas A. White and the late Oscar "Reds" Stewart. She is the loving mother of Thomas A. White (Cindy), David P. White (Claire), Alice A. Farrell (Mike), Francis White (Donna), Paul White (Maria), Denis White and dear grandmother of 15 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She is also survived by 2 step-children Sue Miller (John) and Mark Stewart (Mary Gay) and 5 step-grandchildren. Alice was an active member of the Collingswood High School Class of 1943 where she was voted "Most Peppiest". She started her nursing career at Cooper Hospital and went on to work at the Jewish Geriatric Home as Director of Nursing until retiring in 1990. She then went on to work for Camden County as an Ombudsmen, and then to a physician's office part time until totally retiring from Nursing in 1997. Alice's peppy energetic personality kept her moving as she continued acting as the Choir Director and Organist for St. Aloysius Church in Oaklyn, retiring in June of 2008 after 50 years of faithful service. Relatives and friends are invited to meet Friday from 9:00 to 11:00 AM, at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, St. Aloysius Church, 37 W. Haddon Ave. Oaklyn, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at New St. Mary's Cemetery, Bellmawr, NJ. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting Memorial Donations in Alice's name be made to the United Methodist Communities at Collingswood, 460 Haddon Ave, Collingswood, NJ 08108.
